Exam results
We were delighted with the progress seen in our outcomes in 2024 and KS4 & KS5 and offer our warm congratulations to our students!
KS4 outcomes
Nearly 350 Year 11 students sat examinations I the summer of 2024. Of these, over 70% achieved at least a Grade 4 in both an English and maths with almost 50% achieve these two subjects at a Grade 5 or higher. In addition, provisional progress placed the outcomes of Ashby School students in line with those achieved by similar students nationally.
Headteacher Dr Jude Mellor said: “Ashby School has been on a relentless improvement journey over the last 3 years and we are delighted that this has resulted in such a tangible improvement in outcomes. Such successes mean that our students are able to access their chosen post-16 options, with very many choosing to remain into our sixth form, and we wish them huge success with their next steps in education”.
KS5 outcomes
From a cohort of 236 students, over 70% achieved three C+ grades and over 20% of grades were an A/A8. Of these, nearly 10% of our students achieved the amazing standard of 3 qualifications at an A or A* grade. Following their results, students have moved on to a range of higher education institutions including 24% to Russell Group universities, an increase of 5% from 2023. They are studying a variety of subjects, including Computer Science, Marine Biology and Medicine. Many students also successfully secured a wide range of employment or apprenticeship places in both our local community as well as much further afield.
Head of School Vikki Rundle-Brown said: “Our students should be exceptionally proud of what they have achieved over the last two years. As well as working hard in their academic studies, so many of our students seized other enrichment and leadership opportunities that will undoubtedly set them up in the best possible way for the next part of their journey – whatever this may be. We wish them every success.”
