Exam results
In 2023, 58% of Year 11 students attained at least five GCSEs at grades 9 - 4, including English and maths. Destinations post-16 included Ashby Sixth Form, further education colleges and apprenticeships.
Headteacher Dr Jude Mellor said: “To have come through such a challenging last few years in education and to have achieved so well is a real testament to our students’ resilience. We are really pleased to see so many students progressing onto amazing next steps both within further education and beyond. We want to wish them all the very best and are delighted to know that for so many, their journey will continue with us in our Sixth Form."
The A level pass rate was 97.5% across a range of A levels and equivalent qualifications with 42% achieving three C+ grades. Following their results, students have moved on to a range of higher education institutions including 19% to Russell Group universities. They are studying a variety of subjects, including chemical engineering, physics and ancient history. Many students also successfully secured employment or apprenticeship places at organisations including Rolls Royce and Jaguar Land Rover, as well as going into nursing and policing.
Head of School Vikki Rundle-Brown said: “Our students should be exceptionally proud of what they have achieved over the last two years. As well as working hard in their academic studies, so many of our students seized other enrichment and leadership opportunities that will undoubtedly set them up in the best possible way for the next part of their journey – whatever this may be. We wish them every success.”
