Awards Evening Celebrates Values and Success
24 Apr 2024
The school's core values of respect, responsibility and resilience were celebrated at this year's annual awards ceremony, along with student success in all subject areas.
Students in both KS4 and Sixth Form received prizes for outstanding effort and performance in their academic studies.
These academic prizes were followed by awards for students consistently upholding the school's values of Showing Respect, Accepting Responsibility and Building Resilience, known as the 'three Rs'. These awards recognise achievements such as leadership, significant progress, community involvement and/ or individual triumph.
The KS4 Core Values Award was presented to Noah Deacon while the KS5 Ashby Character Award went to Menzies Collier.
Both students were recognised for consistently demonstrating the 'three Rs'.
Headteacher Dr Jude Mellor said: "Awards evening is always a very special occasion and an opportunity to celebrate just some of the incredible progress, achievements and values of our students throughout the year. Well done to all our very worthy award winners."
The evening also included musical entertainment by some of Ashby's own performing arts students as well as a presentation to Year 11 students who have recently completed their bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award.
