Year 13 Parents Student Finance Meeting
21 Jan 2020
Dear Year 13 Parents/ Carers and Students,
STUDENT FINANCE EVENING – 6 FEBRUARY 2020
After all the ‘excitement’ and pressure of completing the UCAS application, it is normal for both students and parents to feel a little anxious about the finances involved in higher education.
Frequently asked questions include: What will it cost, what finance is available, how do I access it and how it is paid back? Jamie Bradford from De Montfort University will explain the student finance system for wherever students have applied, at a presentation on 6 February at 7pm in the school lecture theatre. The session will last for about an hour.
It is important to note that, the sooner students apply, the more chance they have of finding the money waiting for them at the start of term, making a smoother start to life at university.
We know students have already begun to receive offers. Some students are unsure of the process and the possible options that are open to them. To address this, we will explain the process of 'what to do now' in an assembly later this term.
In the meantime, we look forward to seeing you on 6 February.
