Year 13 Mock Exams - Important Dates
09 Dec 2020
Dear Parent / Carer,
I am writing to inform you of a few changes to our plans for mock exams.
With the coronavirus epidemic still prevalent, we are making provision for the possibility that students will be required to self-isolate during the weeks their mocks are scheduled. In this circumstance students will sit their exams exactly two weeks later in a catch-up programme.
This has inevitably resulted in the school’s mock exam programme becoming spread out over a longer period.
The A level mocks will now take place during the week commencing 22nd February. The catch-up programme for students missing any exams will take place during the week commencing 8th March. Individual exam timetables with exact timings for exams will be provided to students shortly after the Christmas break.
Students will be on study leave for the duration of the week 22nd to 26th February to enable them to maximise their focus on revision and preparation for the mock exams. There will be no study leave during the catch-up week as normal lessons will have resumed.
With the interruptions to the usual course of study we have experienced this year, it is more important than ever that students take time to independently revisit their learning and identify and close any gaps in their understanding. Preparation for mock exams is the ideal focus for this revision process and I would like to request that parents and carers do all they can to support and encourage the students to make the best use of their time in the run up the mock exams.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
