Resources for Absent Students
11 Nov 2020
We are writing to remind you of the many resources available to support students' learning at Ashby School.
We recognise that students may need additional support in helping them remain motivated to study and to improve their revision techniques, and that parents are keen for ideas to support them. Please find attached a summary and details of this term's parent and student webinars.
GCSEPod & Online Platforms
Ashby school has purchased a subscription to an ‘award winning’ online resource, GCSEPod, for all Year 10 and Year 11 students to access. This initiative supports their study and allows them to revise many of their subjects remotely. Please find attached a summary of the online platforms available and how to access them.
Ashby’s Virtual School
Ashby's Virtual School is enabling the school to continue to deliver excellent education even when students may be unable to attend school in-person. If a student is unable to attend school due to illness, related to COVID-19 or otherwise, they have access to online teaching material to support their ongoing learning and delivery of the national curriculum.
The portal also gives students the opportunity to practice/revise areas they have covered in school and identify areas where extra support is required.
New learning and teaching materials are uploaded fortnightly, ensuring a consistent learning experience so all students can benefit from the school’s expertise.
If your son/daughter is not able to attend school, some of their lessons will be delivered using Microsoft Teams. The following links will help you to download the software and explain how to use it from home.
