Covid Testing Update - 11 March
11 Mar 2021
I wanted to write to you to say what a credit the students have been to yourselves and the school. Their conduct during the last four days of testing has been exemplary.
There have been a few questions raised that I wanted to clarify. Permission to have a test is with the parent or the student, if they are over 16. We cannot direct students, or prevent anyone attending school who chooses not to have a test.
On a very positive note we have carried out over 1700 tests covering well over 90% of the school population, so you should feel reassured that our school is a safe environment.
I am aware of a post that has been made on social media. I have always made it clear that social distancing is not fully possible in any school, which is why we have taken the position we have with mask wearing. Some students are exempt from wearing a mask, through medical grounds, and that is what was shown on the social media post. The over whelming majority of students are wearing their masks and have conducted themselves very well today. A simple conversation with your child will portray the true picture of school. The students involved in the social media situation have been dealt with.
